Allergies are a tricky thing. When I found out I had a gluten intolerance, I thought my foodie days were over. The first thing I said was “oh no I LOVE pasta and pizza!”. In fact, becoming gluten free a year ago has taught me to creatively view food.
I started this journey by first working as a resident food blogger and reporter (NESN) for Boston’s restaurants, nightlife and writing about my culinary journey. I was involved in pageants at the time and during my year as Miss Connecticut USA I learned a lot about health. What are we putting in our bodies? What is causing people to react to food? Is there a way to change or modify that….
What started as exploring the hip places to eat, turned into a love of what comes before the plate. The more I became immersed in the world of food, the more I started to learn about my own health, what works for people with allergies and health goals, even ways of changing favorites. I love to travel, experience how other cultures connect through food and bring these recipes home to my own kitchen.

With close to twenty years experience she began taking vocal lessons at the age of ten and discovered very quickly this was something she was good at. Not long after, she enrolled in choir and received yet another form of training that would mold her voice for the future.
Her first opportunity in the spotlight was not exactly newsworthy yet somehow her picture made the front page, most likely because she was wearing a much too large cowboy hat and a jean shirt that looked like she stole it from Shania Twain. But after experiencing the feeling of being on stage, it was over for Taylor, she knew she loved to perform. After that, singing became a way of life for her. From singing competitions to weddings to baseball games, she did it all. Taylor has opened for talents such as Ricky Skaggs, she has headlined her own shows, and even sang the National Anthem for the former first lady Laura Bush.
Over time, she found herself not only wanting to sing the songs but write them too. In the past decade, she has amassed a collection of songs written about real life topics taken straight from her own life. Now she is taking songs from her collection and making an album that she hopes will reach people. She has a voice that is sweet and edgy all at once, and she will captivate your attention with her unique sound. The combination of her earthy voice and heartfelt writing will keep you coming back for more.
It wasn’t that I didn’t like my life. I simply didn’t have a strong sense of self-worth. To cope with stress and boredom, I took solace in comfort eating and I escaped into fiction when time allowed. Several years ago, by chance, I was introduced to Isagenix as a tool for weight loss. I had tried so many weight-loss “solutions” before, and I must admit that I wasn’t optimistic. I bought a 30-Day System™ for fat burning and cleansing. At the outset, I weighed 275 pounds. I never dreamed I would be capable of losing 100 pounds. I just wanted to lose something to feel better! I started my weight-loss journey with my sister and mother. I was shocked because I saw and felt a difference with Isagenix almost immediately. I felt amazing. I was more alert and energetic. I was losing weight without suffering or starving, and I felt nourished. The nutrition was flooding my body and brain with so many rich essentials that I felt I was starting to come back to life. I began to make better decisions and my self-esteem slowly began to spiral upwards. To this day, I regret not having a true “before” picture to document my starting point. I had a picture taken after I had already lost 25 pounds. But the truth is this: in any before picture of me, I would make sure one of my boys or something physical was blocking me so that I could not be fully seen. Now that I’ve lost the weight, I always tell people that no matter their goal or expectations, take that “before” picture. You don’t have to look at it, and nobody has to see it, but your life is going to change so much that you’re going to want to have that picture to remind yourself of what your personal power can accomplish.

I have been working as an “It Works” distributor since September of 2011. It has truly been life changing for me and my entire family. Before “It Works” came into my life I was a bartender and I did skin care at a spa. Once I started a family it was hard for me to commit to spending so much time at the spa and less time from my children so I started working more bar shifts at night so I could be there during the days with the boys. After a while it became very exhausting and hard to only have a few hours sleep and be a full time mom in the morning!!
